Our detailed exam consists of three stages (observation, palpation, auscultation). The test allows for detection of problems for both the heart and the arterial circulatory system. This exam may seem intrusive for some patients, so our facility and highly trained staff take great steps to make you feel comfortable.

Echocardiogram:
An echocardiogram uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to generate an image of your heart. An echocardiogram will help determine the size and shape of your heart, thickness, and movement of your heart’s walls. This test will also discover how your heart moves, the heart’s pumping strength and if the valves are working correctly. Finally, the echocardiogram will let us know if blood is leaking backward through your heart valves or if there is a tumor or infectious growth around your heart valves.

Stress Test
The exercise stress test — also called a stress test, exercise electrocardiogram, treadmill test, graded exercise test, or stress ECG — is used to provide information about how the heart responds to exertion. It usually involves walking on a treadmill or pedaling a stationary bike at increasing levels of difficulty, while your electrocardiogram, heart rate, and blood pressure are monitored.

Holter Monitors
TA Holter monitor is a battery-operated portable device that measures and tape records your hearts activity (ECG) continuously for 24 to 48 hours or longer depending on the type of monitoring used. The device is the size of a small camera. It has wires with silver dollar-sized electrodes that attach to your skin. The Holter monitor and other devices that record your ECG as you go about your daily activities are called ambulatory electrocardiograms.are monitored.

Nuclear Cardiology
Nuclear cardiology is a non-invasive technique to assess myocardial blood flow and evaluate the pumping function of the heart as well as visualize the size and location of a heart attack.
